Decoration Information |
No Decorations - due to floods Known as the village deity, the Kasba Ganapati has an historical background as it is one of the oldest Ganesh temples of the city dating back the era of Chhatrapati Shivaji. Located very close to the historical Shaniwarwada, the Ganesh is one of the five most revered Ganeshas of the city. Owing to the heavy downpour and the flood like situation in the state this year, the mandal has decided to shun all celebrations and decorations during the Ganeshotsav celebrations this year. Instead, they have adopted on of the flood-affected villages Helwak, at Koynanagar in Satara District and have decided to divert all its funds towards the welfare of the villagers. The more than century-old idol of the Kasba Ganapati, leads the immersion procession every year. This time, the mandal has decided to begin the immersion procession at 9 am, which is two hours before the normal time, in order to finish the procession in time and avoid inconvenience to the residence of Pune. |
