Also known as the city deity, the temple forms the main venue of Ganesh festival celebrations sans any decoration and festivity. The mandal instead takes a number of activities aimed at social welfare and awareness. The venue has been decorated with potted plants and the idol of the god has been placed in a silver palanquin. As a mark of its social commitment the mandal has decided to cut down on its expenditure on celebrations and use the funds to help the flood affected in the surroundings. |
